Michael was knowledgable in the various software offered at the company, including for fundraising, donor management, compliance reporting, and communications software. Michael was able to take some complex topics and explain them to clients in an effective manner. Aside from mastering his client communication, Michael Bates also was responsible for communicating closely with the product, engineering, new media, and sales departments. He was responsible for sharing the needs of clients that helped to improve the software.

Soon, Michael Bates became a Senior Account Executive, State & Local Sales at the same company in Washington, DC. His past role helped him to understand the product and the types of customers that it would help, which gave him the ability to succeed in sales. Michael managed and developed a territory of over 15 states, while consistently exceeding sales goals. He was responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections and also tracked daily activities through salesforce.

Michael Bates then went on to work as a Dedicated Advisor, National Journal Group for Atlantic Media. He fostered relationships with high-level executives and heads of office at DC’s premier public policy organizations. After one year in this role, Michael decided to make a career change and became a real estate agent in 2016.

Michael Bates has been able to utilize his previous skills in business to succeed in real estate. Since his start, Michael has worked his way up in the industry, and one year after his start, he became a Team Lead in his second year as an agent. In 2018, Michael Bates decided to utilize his expertise and start his own business. He has extensive knowledge of real estate and rentals, so he opened Rising Tide Rentals, LLC.
